The draw for the semi final is as follows:

 

23 March

 

Old Parkonians cancelled so Caldy are now in the final

 

30 March

 

Port Sunlight v Anselmians at Birkenhead Park KO 7.30pm

 

According to the competition points rules:

-  Old Parkonians will receive a 10 point head start for their match against Caldy.

-  Port Sunlight will receive an 18 point head start for their match against Anselmians.

 

Again, we appreciate that the points rules above may need altering in the future, but we can only do this once the competition is established and we have an idea of the levels of the teams within in the competition.

 

5.   Miscellaneous Items

 

Subs – any 3 from 5 (must include one front row). When all 3 replacements from 5  nominated have been used and a front row is required because of injury we will allow the replacement for safety and the side goes down to 14, this could be a replaced front row or unused front row.

Balls – each club must provide 2 match balls

Players – for teams entering a 2nd 3rd or development team, you must not play a player who has played more than 3 times for your 1st team before Christmas.

 

Draw at full time:

-     If the scores are level at full time there will be kicks at goal by 5 nominated players from the teams on the pitch at the final whistle take alternate kicks are taken at one end from anywhere on the 22m line. 

-     Best out of 5 wins, if still level the remaining players from each team other than the 5 already used take alternate kicks until a miss, i.e. sudden death. 

-     Nominated players line up on the 10m line the rest of the team on the halfway, TJs behind posts, 4th official controls nominated players, referee keeps score. 

-     Kicks can be placed or drop goals.

-     There will be count back and no extra time (apart from final, where a period of extra time will be played.  If scores are still level after extra time, kicks at goal will take place as above).

 

Further fixture dates:

Final will be on a Friday night at Birkenhead Park, date to be arranged once we know which two teams are in the final.

 Seeding, Draw, Rules for 2011 Minimize

Detailed below are the seeding, draw and a few rules relating to the Floodlit cup for your information.

 

1.     Seedings – teams have been grouped and seeded as follows:

2.     Preliminary knockout games

 

·       A knockout round of games is required in order to have the correct number of 8 teams for the final competition.

·       Preliminary games will take place between teams within box 1 and within box 3 (i.e. 2 go through from box 1 and 3 to main competition).

·       In the preliminary draw for group 3, Helsby received a bye.

 

3.     Preliminary fixtures 

 

·       Wed 2nd Feb 2011 - Caldy 2/3rd  XV vs Oldershaw 1st XV at Birkenhead Park, KO 7.30

·       Wed 9th Feb 2011 - Birkenhead Park Wanderers XV vs Wirral Development XV at New Brighton, KO 7.30

·       Wed 16th Feb 2011 - Port Sunlight 1st  XV vs Hoylake 2nd  XV at New Brighton, KO 7.30

 

4.     Main Competition – Points rules

 

·       If teams from same seeding group play each other, no points difference

·       If a team from box 1 plays a team from box 3 – 28 point head start for box 3 team

·       If a team from box 2 plays a team from box 3 – 18 point head start for box 3 team

·       If a team from box 1 plays a team from box 2 – 10 point head start for box 2 team

o    Quarter finals two games played on each night one at N/Brighton and one at B/Park KO 7.30:

o    Final will be on a Friday night, date to be arranged KO 7.30

·       Contact details –it would be useful if we could establish a contacts list (preferably with at least 2 names from each club - ideally email addresses, home and mobile numbers.) to be used by the host clubs to confirm arrangements and any notification in case of cancellation.  Please can you respond with the details for your club.
