 Cheshire Vase Information Minimize

CHESHIRE COMPETITIONS 2009/10

 

25 teams from level eight and above entered the coming season’s Cup, Vase and Bowl competitions including, for the first time in a number of years, Sale Sharks who we welcome back into the Cheshire Competitions. They will play one of their Jets sides which will be graded according to the level of the team they are to play. Teams were seeded depending upon their position in the National Leagues at the end of last season with the top eight going into the Cup, the next eight into the Vase and the final nine into the Bowl. Your club is entered into the VASE and the draw for the first (quarter final) round is shown below:-

As decided at the meeting held at WinningtonParkSATURDAY 29TH AUGUST 2009. It is the responsibility of the HOME club to make the necessary arrangements for the game including arranging the referee. In order to keep costs to a minimum, for this round both teams should supply a suitably qualified touch judge. in May these games are to be played on

Could all teams note that the Semi Final round is due to be played on November 21st 2009 or January 2nd 2010 with the final scheduled for Easter Saturday, 3rd April 2010.

 2009 Cup Dates Minimize

Twickenham winners meet in Bill Beaumont Cup opener

Yorkshire, holders of the RU County Championships Bill Beaumont Cup, will start their defence with a home game against Shield winners Northumberland when next year’s competition begins on May 9, 2009.

The White Rose side comfortably defeated reigning champions Devon at Twickenham in this season’s final, while Northumberland also enjoyed Twickenham success when they beat Corn wall to add the Shield trophy to their promotion to the top flight.

Cheshire, relegated from the Cup, open their Shield programme with a visit to promoted Leicestershire, while Cumbria have a first-day home assignment against North Midlands.

Durham, relegated last season after losing their final game to Cumbria, begin their County Championship Plate campaign with a home game against Notts, Lincs & Derby on May 2.
