NEW BRIGHTON FOOTBALL CLUB (RUGBY UNION)

A Community Club

The Club was formed in 1875 and has been based at several grounds over the years.  Our present home is Hartsfield situated in Reeds Lane, Moreton, Wirral.

We are proud of our traditional clubhouse that incorporates the Long Bar, Lounge Bar, Tea Room and Restaurant, as well as a substantially covered stand. The Lounge Bar (we serve real ale!) is open nightly.

At present we run three senior rugby teams all of which compete in the National League System.  The first team pitch is the envy of the majority of Clubs in the country.  It is floodlit and has an electronic scoreboard.  The back pitch has training lights and a dedicated junior area.

Our Squash Section maintain eight courts to a very high standard one of which is glass backed and includes an extensive viewing area.  Squash run thirteen competitive teams, one in the premier division.  Mixed and ladies only monthly leagues ensure competitive squash for all who desire it.

Changing facilities for both Squash and Rugby include a sauna and plunge bath as well as the usual shower and rest areas.

New Brighton is very much a family Club; both Squash and Rugby run thriving Junior Sections with over 300 members meeting regularly to enjoy both sporting and social events.

Regular social events ensure non- playing family and friends are not forgotten. Our Sportsman’s Dinner, just one of many social events, is held in a marquee. It is the highlight of our social calendar. The event was initiated back in 1988 and yearly since then we have been entertained by a host of renowned sportsmen and entertainers - Phil Bennett, Frank Worthington, Sir Richard Hadley, Martin Bayfield to name but a few!

Our extensive facilities are available for hire for corporate events and private functions.

All visitors to the Clubhouse are assured of a warm welcome: at New Brighton we pride ourselves on our hospitality.

We look forward to welcoming you to Hartsfield.
